MySQLi - Moving Forward

On the main site I see someone has created some updates to Kollection for use with MySQLi.... but I am confused by what it says.

Development environment was set as follows:

Dreamweaver 8 with ADOBE MySQLi server model
E_ALL enabled to fix all errors thus far including "Strict" and "Depricated" errors
Kollektion 3.7.1
Php 5.5 / MySQLi

I have Dreamweaver 8, but there is no "MYSQLi server model" that I can see.
Am I missing something, or is this really just a PHP 5.5 update that uses the normal MySQL server model?
