Kollection/Interakt and PHP 7

Post by Timespider » 2016-01-14 22:20

Hi everyone, happy 2016.

I see PHP 7 has been released. PHP 7 now requires MySqli or PDO connection as it does not support MySql anymore. How will we make the new connections work with our existing sites & our extensions? Has anyone thought about this.

Cheers Chris

I have installed this in my connection script. Haven't tested it yet.

Hi Fred & happy 2016,

can you send me that MySqli connection class or do I have to register on that site to get it?

Thanks Chris

Chris it's probably better to register on that site to download it.
If there are any upgrades to the class you will then receive a notification.

Also gives the author a download count click.

Loads of useful classes there as well.

I actually just recently discovered the phpclasses site. What an amazing resource... I found answers and classes for almost everything I needed for a project of mine on there. I couldn't believe it.
This is why D-Bal Max is extremely effective compared to other products.

I have posted on https://www.upwork.com a job for upgrading kollection to php 7 and mysqli.

If you would like to contribute to paying for a recommended developer let me know - I have also sent out the following invitations via Linked in to former Interakt employees.

"Hi I am looking to hire a programmer that can help upgrade the old kollections library so it will work with php 7 and mysqli can you recommend anyone ? my email address is rt.webglobalnet@gmail.com"

I really want to get this done - I have search high & low for a product that would do most of what kollection would and to be honest I am amazed that there really isn't anything on the market. DMXZone and Webassist came closest but neither really got it right in my estimation.

I will be charging for the resulting upgrade once completed but anyone contributing a fair portion will get it for free obviously.

All I'm interested in find out right now is who is interested in in this project and wants to help out. Email me at rt.webgloblanet.net and let me know.
